Belize Aggregates, "Belagg", is the name of the Johnston International limestone aggregate quarrying and crushing operation based in Belize.
The Belagg operation is the largest quarrying operation in Belize and was the first to be established. The quarry was originally opened in the 1930's and has a projected life of 300 years at the current extraction rates. Johnston International purchased the business as a going concern in early 1997. Since the aquisition Johnston International have invested in state of the art quarrying equipment.
The quarry is based on a 580 acre site and is equipped with a US manufactured Tel Smith horizontal impactor crushing machine.
Additionally there is a full range of Caterpillar quarrying equipment for loading and hauling the rock from the quarry to the crusher and on to the stock piles as required.
The plant has a peak capacity of 1000 tons per day.
The primary aggregate products are sub-base for roads and blended aggregate mixes for use by the ready mixed concrete industry.
