PURPOSE: The role of the Commercial Manager is to manage risk, opportunity and reward in all aspects of the Project.
KEY OBJECTIVES: To manage the commercial function.
To develop and implement commercial controls, contracts and sub contract procedures. To manage client and JIL financial and contractual expectations throughout the project. To manage training for commercial staff. To ensure all commercial reporting procedures are adhered to. To advise on contractual matters to project manager / director. To skilfully manage contractual relationships and any claims that arise. To work well within a team and small island type environment.
REPORTS TO: Project Manager / Director and functionally to Area Commercial Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Quantity Surveyors, Contract Administrators and Cost Clerks.
REQUIREMENTS: Age – 35+
Qualifications – Degree/Diploma and/or RICS/AIQS
Experience: US$25M plus projects. Hotel/Condominium. Hospital / healthcare Direct labour force and/or remote location experience an advantage. Overseas experience preferable.
