Johnston Group History

The Johnston Group of Construction Companies has been operating throughout the Caribbean region for over 35 years. Prior to October 1994, Johnston was operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnston Group PLC, a publicly traded UK company founded in 1904.

In October 1994, BHI Corporation, a Belize based multi-national conglomerate, acquired Johnston International Ltd, and the Corporate Headquarters for all Caribbean operations was moved to the Turks & Caicos Islands. The company has been in operation here for 25 years and was officially incorporated in June 1981. Subsequently, in May 1999, JIL was purchased by Oxford Ventures Ltd primarily as a management buyout.
