Building Type: Hotel, conference facilities, parking, landscaping and beach front facilities.
Project Overview:
The project involved the construction of piled foundations, reinforced
concrete frame, external works and various finishing trade packages for
the five storey, 235 room hotel to internationally accepted standards.
This was the third project carriedout for te sames client, the others
being the Marriott and Westin Hotels in Grand Cayman.
Challenges / Issues:
Hadsphaltic finished the frame package 5 weeks early, introducing some
float into an extremely aggressive construction schedule.
Contract Value: Hadsphaltic total package walue US$13.5 m
Construction Schedule: 12 month schedule, completed November 2000
Estimate Methodology:
The frame package was directlly negotiated with the Client. This
initial package was followed by vatrious additionsl packages of work.
Package Strategy:
Hadsphaltic used its directly employed labour as much as possible,
together with itspreferred supply chain partners as appropriare, with
emphasis on local suppliers.
