David Smith, M.I.E. Aust., CPEng.

Country Manager Trinidad and Tobago for Johnston International Ltd.

Responsibilities include management of existing projects, procurement of new work and general management of the JIL construction business in Trinidad and Tobago.

Mr. Smith joined the Johnston International Group of Construction Companies in 2004.

Prior to joining the Johnston International Group of Construction Companies, Mr. Smith spent five years with the Christiani & Nielsen group of companies as a director appointed to senior operational and board positions based in Europe, the Middle East and Far East.

As Chief Executive and Operating Officer he had previously run his own contracting and consultancy business known as the Liva Group of Companies. These companies primarily operated in Australasian Region providing project management and consultancy services in Australia as well as Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Indonesia.

Mr. Smith is a graduate of Western Australia Institute of Technology 1970 and is a Chartered Member of The Institute of Engineers, Australia. He has more than 30 years experience in Civil Engineering and Building Construction.
